Immediately after their marriage in 2002, Linda (McBride) Reyes and Javier Reyes learn that their lives are being threatened by an unidentified group. The newlyweds flee to Mexico's southern Baja Peninsula where they start a new life with new names. As we join them in La Paz, five years later, they are about to make an accidental discovery that will change their lives forever.

Linda, Javier and friend Carlos search by land, sea and air for the source of coded messages that are so shocking they must be shared with the authorities. Meanwhile, far away in the Bahamas, newpaper reporter Alan Larsen uncovers more mysteries than he bargained for when he searches Andros Island for clues about the disappearance of Linda's former boss and founder of the NWIDI research organization.
